ABOUT THE PROJECT
Whipps Cross Voices, a project generously supported by Barts Charity in collaboration with the Whipps Cross Hospital Redevelopment team, celebrated the history of Whipps Cross Hospital, capturing stories and experiences of current and former staff and patients and the local community.

Through the project, which ran during 2022 and 2023, we added new material to the Whipps Cross collections cared for by Barts Health NHS Trust Archives, and improved access to existing historic collections.
New material included oral history recordings, capturing memories about the life of the hospital, and project volunteers digitised and catalogued existing archive material. Since the project, we have been able to fill gaps in the documented history of the hospital, allowing us to tell new stories.
